Overview
Raise Your Match 2 was the follow-up matching grant program for camps that completed
Create Your Match 2. This program was intended to help camps continue to cultivate and motivate their donors.
Key Guidelines
In Phase 1 (May 1, 2009 - October 30, 2009), each camp raised minimum gifts of $25,000 from donors (up to a $50,000 maximum). These gifts were matched 1:1 by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation to create a pool of matching funds of up to $100,000. Pledges had to be paid in full by January 29, 2010. To be eligible, camps had to have an active fundraising committee and a fundraising plan completed by August 31, 2009. The plan proposed the Phase 2 match ratio, amount of minimum gift, camp's fundraising strategy, and intended use of the Raise Your Match 2
funds.
In Phase 2 (ending April 30, 2010), the pool of matching funds of up to $100,000 was used to match 1:2 or 1:3 all eligible gifts of $3,600 or more. Gifts in both phases could come from new or previous donors and from individuals, families (spouse, parents, grandparents, siblings, and children), foundations, or corporations. Gifts from a Jewish Federation or the Foundation for Jewish Camp were not eligible. To be eligible for matching funds, at least one-third of each pledge amount had to be paid within 60 days of submission of the pledge application to the Harold Grinspoon Foundation; the remaining pledge amount had to be paid in full by April 30, 2012.
Camps could use Raise Your Match 2
funds for capital, annual, scholarship, endowment or other purposes.
