The 'Rabbi's Handbook' from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation outlines the pivotal role of rabbis in fostering legacy giving within Jewish congregations as part of the LIFE & LEGACY initiative. This program aims to weave legacy giving into the philanthropic culture of Jewish communities, encouraging members to leave after-lifetime gifts to ensure the sustainability of Jewish organizations. The handbook emphasizes that legacy giving should complement, not compete with, annual fundraising efforts, and encourages all congregants to engage in legacy conversations, share personal stories, and support the formation of a legacy team to facilitate these discussions effectively.
